I like the look of the ?shark eyes? bow lights like Skargo has. I have had those on my wish list for some time.

Can those of you that do have them tell me how well they work. How well do they illuminate markers, buoys, shoreline ?

Obviously, they are not ?headlights?, but down here in the narrow channels they would be nice to be able to light up the water without messing with my night vision.

And I was just wondering what experiences that people have had with them.

Thanks ya?ll

It is illegal to boat with any lights on at night other than your marker lights. They are strictly for docking and loading on a trailer at night.

Yep,
they work great for their intended purpose. I never turn them on when I'm navigating. I do have a spot light that is powerful, and I use it if I need to spot something.
Those lights bring in the bugs when I dock in the dark though!

docking lights are not head lights....most boaters think they are and say they do not work.

this is not true....

light needs something to reflect off, like a log or a swimmer :D if there is nothing to reflect off the water will absorb the light waves and all will be black. but around the dock.....they are fantastic.

as long as there is something to see the dock lights will reflect it properly.

cheers

Check out the electrical forum and there is a post about the attwood LED Dock lights. They look nice but as all have said they are not headlights. Strictly Dock lights.

They do look like shark eyes, I get more comments on them than anything else.

I believe they are referred to as docking/mooring lights.

I intend to put brake lights on the back of the boat and troll around Tampa Bay at night with these headlights on. Just to mess with all the drunk idiots who will have to wonder how their boat ended up on a road.

What would be great is to find a big 10" pair of those googly eyes and stick them on your boat.
