SHAZAM!! Dodged a bullet!

I've been watching the local radar since this morning. Storms developing to the SW and moving this way. About mid morning storms started dancing by The Hideout with lots of blitz and boom and a few sprinkles.

Well, now, mid afternoon, they have consolidated into a major front with big hail and numerous tornadoes and are playing pure hades in the DFW Metroplex and east. I have seen live video of semi-trailers flying hundreds of feet in the air like so many Fall leaves. No opportunities for photoshop fakes (which nobody would believe, anyway).

I got 0.1" of rain and no wind damage. Counting my blessings.:redface:

Hmmmm I do recall the days (years ago) that you were complaining for lack of weather and praying for rain to fill the tanks!!

Glad to hear you're okay JB. New in Nashville has been talking about the storms going through Texas all day ... looks like DFW is quite the mess.

... now I'm hoping it's not headed this way

Amazing thing, Bubba; no reported fatalities and only one injury requiring hospitalization. Lots of people dodged a bullet today.

Glad to hear your ok JB, immediately thought of you when I heard the news.
You too Bubba, glad your son is safe.

We have a soft heart in our area for this right now (Harrisburg, IL) just devestated last month. Now it's all heading this way.

Anyone heard from Incoop? Arkansas is getting hammered right now.

Glad you and "the hideout" are still intact. Always pictured it as a bunker in the side of a mountain.LOL. How's the health situation? MRI hopefully will give you some good news.

Based on the news reports this morning......... you dodged more than a bullet..... looks like a war zone.

Amazing that there were relatively few injuries with that damage.

Man!, those semi truck trailers just flying up in the air give an idea of the power of those storms!....almost make a guy consider digging a storm shelter....only thing is, the storms might sneak up and get you before you could run for the shelter!...Glad you're O.K.,JB!

We live about 3 miles south from where I35 splits into I35E and I35W in Denton. It was just a thunderstorm to us, then one of our kids called from Kansas asking if we were ok, and THAT is when we turned the TV on! We were very luck as a couple of tornadoes were seen between Argyle and Justin just south of here. We heard sirens later but not until after we were watching the storm reports. I am trying to build a deck out back and all the decking and framing lumber was just stacked up, that would have been a mess.

Glad all is well with you, I saw that on the news last night and again this AM, strange to see 40 to 48 foot trailers flying through the air like that.

Glad all is well JB. I have a buddy who moved down to Dallas a couple years ago and luckily he was ok too.

Number 1 grandbuddy and his family had a house destroyed just a block away (Arlington) and grandbuddy #2 (the chef) also got missed by a couple of blocks (Allen).

As Bob mentioned, I have whined for rain for years. Even with all the catastrophic events I only got 0.1".

I guess that is called looking a gift horse in the mouth.:redface:
