To all who helped me with my 4.5 Johnson that siezed up...Thank you!
She was taking water into the cylinder after siezing up. I replaced the side plate gasket. I worked the head on some fine sandpaper to clean/true up the surface and replaced the head gasket. Compression seemed low at around 60 pounds per cylinder but she runs great. She started right up! Now I have to wait out the long Alaska winter before I can put her on the boat for some fishing.
Thanks again!
