Shear pins

Are shear pins "special" or can I go to the local hardware store and get a aluminum pin that fits and use that.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Gander Commander

Hi Rude<br />Use what ever you have to in a pinch. But reglar shear pins are cheeeep. So why horse around when you don't have to?

rude66<br />My brother uses brass welding rods for emergency. The shear pins should be at your local dealer. I have not had any trouble finding them for my golden oldies! But I would get them at the dealer, if you use something that is to hard to break, then something else breaks$<br />Richard
