Shift and drive shaft repairs?

Have you heard of a process called "metal spray"?<br />My drive shaft have a pits at the oil seals.<br /><br />Found an example on the web at http://www.metaltech.ca/Shaft-Repair.htm. <br />and http://www.corrosion.com/thermal-sec5.html <br /><br />A local marine shop parts guy is suggesting I try this process to correct the problem.<br /><br />I would like to here your opions.

It works and has saved alot of people alot of dough not to mention those obsolete shafts that were brought back to life.I have also seen a failure or two when this flakes off.It will keep the old girl going but you need to face reality.
