Good evening everybody. So I recently replaced my lower shift cable, and am buttoning up the job. All went well, definatly a 2 person job. Anyways, I am at the point where im ready to crimp the small bellows clamp in place. Is there a general rule of thumb as to what position the bellows should be in when clamped? The service manual says 2 inches...but 2 inches from where? And at what position should the trim be in when taking that 2" dimension into account?

One would think where the bellow is at rest. most use plastic Ty Wrap instead of the clamp. it rusts away.

With the Doc on this one. Toss the clamp and use a ty-wrap doubled up....

Doesn't matter where the trim is, that 2" will remain 2" regardless.....

The zip tie is the way I finished mine off. For the position I just put it on and moved it up and down a few times to get a nice even spot. When you find it wrap the zip tie around twice and cinch it up.
