My shifter doesnt start to engage until it is pushed to 3/4 and after it does grab there is only about 1 to 2in max from zero to full throttle. Tried to adjust the cable back by the motor and it didnt help. Its a side mount shifter. A mechanic told me thats the way older setups like i have work? 15ft center console with 1987 85hp force.
