Well, I finally got my 1150 running. What a good feeling to hear it fire up.
Seem to have a small shifting issue. I suspect that the cable just needs to be adjusted. My Seloc manual does not desctibe this very good. I'm hoping I can get a little insight on here.
Here is the deal.
If control box is in neutral detent, the prop spins freely but has a slight click to it as if it is just on the edge of engaging. You can feel the click with your hand as you spin the prop too. When started in this position, the prop spins in reverse ever so slowly.
If I pull the throttle lever back about a half inch, the prop spins freely with no clicking and it spins smooth in the hand. At this point, it feels like the throttle lever has just rose up the neutral detent, and is kinda sitting on the edge of it just before it clicks over to reverse. It is far enough, however, that the engine won't start in that position. Once I start it, and move the lever back to that spot, the prop does not spin. It seems to shift into forward alright. I think it shifts into reverse alright, but I have to pull the lever farther into reverse to get it to engage than I have to push it towards the bow to get it into forward gear.
Anyway, seems to me the cable needs to be adjusted. Sound that way to you all?
Would like some pointers on how to go about doing that.
thanks,
john
