I'm getting ready to replace my shift cable bellows so I'm trying to remove my shift cable. Only problem is that the end that I need to remove has this square pin in it and it's not budgin' Any ideas on how to remove the end of the shift cable? I'd like to reuse the cable. It's functioning fine.

Thanks,
E

Ayuh,... They're just a square-headed screw, 'n nut...

Btw,... If you don't know how old that cable is, you'll be ahead of the game to change it out, Now...
They're design life is the same as the bellows...about 5 years...

Good point Bondo. I don't know the age. I'll take it out so I can get a new one and change the bellows. Thanks for the help fellas. I never would have guessed they were bolts.

Re: Shift cable removal question

New shift cable as in new Mercruiser/Quicksilver, don't get an aftermarket, the OEM cable is worth the extra money.
