Shift Cable Type & Length...?

Greetings all,
I have purchased a Mercury shifter (part # 881170A15) that needs cables. What are the recommended cables for this? Is the shift & throttle the same? Lastly, my boat measures 7' to the transom and 3' to the motor. Would that be 14' cables that I would need?

I really appreciate your advice...

Ayuh,.... Cables are not the same,.... What motor ya tryin' to hook up too,..??

The motor is a Mercury 1993 115hp, inline 4-cyl, with long shaft, trim/tilt. I've switched to a shorter shaft and what to finish the hook up on a smaller boat my friend bought. Actually, I didn't make the purchase on the controls yet, but watching on eBay and about too... The harness accepts an 8-pin... I just need the cables for the box.

Ayuh,.... post number 1 was in April, '02,.... only 13 years,...
It'd be 100,000 if I typed with more than a finger on each hand,...
