Alos I have adjusted the idle to 800 that helped a bit more do I need a new ****er? again when the motor is off its fine thats the key i think. uniflex ****er the plasic guide inside is worn a bit could that be it but why does it shift fine with the motor off here is a pic of the guide its not mine but it looks like this any one have a spare or a ultraflex shift for sale ?http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_335de034d1768a9be4ed3175f268cba8/i-5.JPG

Re: shift problem forward to reverse

Do you have a netural safety kill switch that thing has to be adjusted just right I had a simular problem and that was my problem. I actually just adjusted it and works When you shift between forward and reverse that switch kills the motor for just a second so you can shint. I had someone tell me once I did not need it so I disconected it and my shifting was just like yours so you need it and it has to be working right Good luck
