hi 2all.i hve a35hp johnson sea horse model 35el78 with forward controls,when i put it in forward it goes in fine but hit reverse & she wont go in until u reach 4 d back lever & do it by hand...no probs pls any body with hlp ............THANKS :)D Bream master)

you 99% have a cable going bad, shifting to forward is a pulling action on the cable, reverse is pushing, the cable is bunching up in the sheath. now which cable you need depends on which control you have. and which cable ends. the reason i mention this, is there was a change in the cables 79-80.

you r 99% right,because taking your advice i hve eliminated the problem i raced down to my local mechanic and bought teleflex cables done the job to a tea......Once again your a saint in anybodys language.;)

well just when i thought i had solved one problem out pops another.I read a very interesting article in one of the forums in regards 2 hydrofoils,the good the bad and the ugly.well prior 2 reading this article i purchased one for my 35el78 which will go behind 4metre quintrex runabout,is it a good thing or abad thing,will it give me better wot performance better fuel economy etc etc ....or will i die wondering.:eek:

they can solve problems and can create problems. they are suppose to help you get on plane faster, if you have a stern heavy boat. but can create problems at higher speeds. all i can say is try it. personally i do not like them on larger boats.
