I need some help, I have a 1998 Mercury outboard what has problems with the shift rod that goes from the engine to the lower unit is jammed, it won't move, I took it to the marine and they said they in order to remove it and fix the problem, they will have to remove power heads and it will cost me 1500, any ideas or suggestion on how to fix it so I don;t have to spend too much money on this problem?, thank you in advance.
