Shift Switch Bypass

What is the best way to bypass the shift switch on a 1993 175HP evinrude Spitfire? I have tested it and it is bad but with the holiday weekend here no shops are open to get the part!!! HELP I really want to fish tommorow!!!<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Tim

Remove the ground wire and tape it off out of the way or pull the upper plastic cover and unplug the round connector.
