just finished putting my motor back together, blew an exhaust valve on my #4 cyl. The entire job went smooth and I felt confident it was 100%, but I have a problem. Put the boat in the water today to test and it initially ran awesome. Up on plane in 4 seconds and the boat was running perfect. Then I went to put it in neutral, and the drive remained engaged. If I tried reverse it was still foward. I noticed I put the barrel connector (on the single throttle cable, right side of carb), upsidedown. I turned it around and it seemed to help a little. I was now able to find reverse but the drive was still not disengaging in R or F. I really got concerned when I noticed a power loss as I headed in. I stopped the boat and then nailed the throttle. It got up on plane quickly but power would fade at speed. I tried this several times and a couple of times it did not even want to plane and a couple of times it planed as if nothing was wrong but still seems like it does not want ot run at speed. The throttle also, is not as smooth as pre rebuild.
