Shifter linkage...

Well got the 1988 Johnson VRO 40hp. When the guy I got it from was taking the control cables off I guess the linkage slid sideways and now its like the little arm isn't connected to anything so wont shift into gear... Any ideas? I almost think the screw came out if there is one and I cant figure out a easy way to get to it...
