Shifter Question

Ok I've got a 1983 Gkastron X19 with a screwed up Quick Silver 3000 shifter assem that has the common issue of a stuck throttle only button which is preventing the shifter from engaging drive. I've searched everywhere for a used one to no avail. Besides, from what I'm seeing, this is a very common failure. Anyway, is there another side mounted unit I can use with my original cables and wiring? Cables are free and in tact. Please help! My kids are driving me nuts about going out on the water!!! Have you taken it apart to check it? My 3000 Classic works great. The button is easy to pop out and inspect.

Yea my shop foreman is an avid boating nut/technician. He couldn't get it free up so he took it a local marina here where his friend is the service mgr who had one of the techs attempt to repair it. No luck. He gave me the info on what part/s it needed. The need part/s are NLA! Figures. So now I'm just plain tired of this thing and have decided to replace it.

Post the numbers it will surprise you what this bunch can dig up. Their is lots of new old stock laying around.

My only issue with repairing it at this point is, in a moment of thoughtlessness, I pitched it about 2 months ago! So at this point I have no choice other than to find a used one or a different one. If anyone knows of a good used one for sale please let me know.

Yea I looked on there and all seem to find are ones with missing parts and/or all busted to crap!
