Shifter/throttle control

Ok so I finally received my new Quicksilver 3000 part #827270a21. My old shifter was equipped with a trim button and a trailer button. The new shifter is equipped with neither. What, pray-tell, do I do? It looks like there is knockout at the top of the shifter for a trop of the shifter arm but where do I get the switch that fits and how do I wire it up?

Ok so I think I answered my own question on the trim button. I was able to pop out the knockout I mentioned in my first question above. However, on my old shifter I also have a trailer button but no place on the new shifter for it. What doe I do with this button? Also, there is a failsafe switch on the new shifter that my old shifter didn't have. What do I do with this wiring?

By "failsafe switch", are you referring to a safety lanyard switch that kills the engine in the event that the driver gets ejected?

Correct! I figure, even though my old one doesn't have it, it's probably a good idea!
