I have a 1984 OMC 5.7 with an 800 Series out drive. The engine starts and runs great. The problem is after cruising around 20+ minutes, the engine will stall when you shift it back into gear (forward or reverse). Once the engine cools down it shifts without a problem. Is this a common problem? What can be done? Could it be a problem with the ESA module- Interrupt switch?
