I have a 1991 4.3 Mercruiser with a Alpha 1 stern drive. I am having trouble shifting. I replaced the core wire from the shift plate to the outdrive, I replaced the shift cut out switch (plate). I just can't seem to find neutral. I turn ths brass barrel and it fixes forward, but makes reverse worse. I move the barrel the other way and it fixes reverse, but makes forward worse. I have to go from reverse to neutral and then into forward to get out of reverse. No matter which way I go and how many turns I move it, I just can't get it right. Please help!! <br />Where do I start???
