i have a mercruiser inboard on a dixie boat. its a 70 something model, not for sure cause boat was given to me. when i have the boat in the yard with the muffs on, it shifts fine. in the water, i cant go from foward to neutral or reverse unless i turn off the boat. also, i keep adjusting it, but i either have foward and no reverse, or vise versa. what should i do. help would be greatly appreciate, this is my first boat so im new at this.
