Shimming tool A B C. Not X Y Z

I bought a shimming tool and its marked ABC What hole would I use alpha 1 with 1:50 gears? My manual say the holes should be marked XYZ and use the Z hole with .025

I'm rebuilding the upper drive alpha 1. I have the shimming tool that goes in the top cover! I purchased the other shimming tool of eBay that goes in the drive shaft housing. It's marked A B C. At the holes and my merc manual shows X Y Z and I use hole Z

What is the serial number on the drive? And what is the part number on the tool your using?

The drive is alpha 1 it was 1:65 gears originaly changed to 1:50 for a v8! Serial # I believe is ob818113. Of the top of my head. The part # of the tool I orders is 91-60526 thanks

Interesting. Is that a factory tool or aftermarket? It sounds aftermarket. And it sounds like the tool is not stamped correctly.
Serial numbers 0K999999 and below use tool 91-60526, and it should be marked XYZ. But serial numbers 0L100009 on up use tool 91-854377, which is stamped ABC.

You either have a Gen 1 tool with Gen 2 stampings. Or a Gen 2 tool with a Gen 1 part number on it. Does that make sense?

Yes thanks a lot makes total sence. That's the part number the seller sent me as it was not visable in picture.But could see the abcAs I have only made an offer and he counter offers 70 bucks guess its not what I need thanks a lot for the great info
