I have a shore station boat lift that my day bought new 32 years ago. It has been in storage until last week when I finally assembled it in my yard.( It's a long story but he sold the boat that he needed the lift for, then recently I bought the same boat from the second owner so I figured I might as well use the lift).
Anyway, the lift works fine in the yard, but the braking action of the winch doesn't hold the lift in the raised position and I am wondering how to adjust. Anyone out there own one of these?

Thanks, David

What was your solution? Or does anyone else have any insight to this? I'm dealing with a 3000# Shoremaster Whisper winch, ~2004.

Dude, you may be in contention for the record of the oldest post dredged up... :)

I've found several answers to stuff from 8 or 10 years old posts. I could've started a new post with almost the same words, I just thought this was simpler. Sometimes it's good to unbury old tidbits, especially if the poster has new info since then.

Just for grins, you can click on their name, and get a little menu that you can access their posts from ("view forum posts") and see when they posted last.
