Short shaft on 20" transom

I bought a boat from someone recently who put a Mercury 1100ss 15" on a 20" transom. I called Bay Manufacturing for an extension kit and they tell me they no longer make one for this model. Any suggestions?

Get a jack plate. Won't be ideal, the motor will be pretty low, but should be OK.

jim,I'm missing your view on this,but it could just be me.<br /><br />Word,those 115's are old motors.I wasn't aware they came in a 15" size.But you seem to be sure.<br /><br />Years ago people would just cut down the tramsom.<br /><br />I am dead set against this,because your boat is older,the motor is HEAVY,with a lot of torque,and I feel you'll get hurt.<br /><br />DHP
