I started this on another post as another topic however I figured I better repost to keep things simple. I am planning to wire in a generic 12vdc buzzer for an overheat alarm. I have a sys check tach for a '96 115 wired into a '95 harness. My question finally is ----Does this sys check tach actually send a short signal to the audible upon turning the key or is the audible circuited for this. Could I make a two wire audible sound this test? Thank You

Re: Short signal on key turn?

The System Check gauge sends the signal to the buzzer. In the past the self-check circuitry was in the alarm. I believe the gauge will send the tone. I also expect you could use either a simple buzzer or a self-testing model. But I would think the simple buzzer option is sufficient. :)

As with your duplicate post from earlier, you cannot use a "buzzer" with the SystemCheck warning.

Re: Short signal on key turn?

I suppose I should clarify my post. I've worked on a few Trackers and they had their own harness and their own brand of alarm. It has to be a Piezo alarm. I can see where a Radio Shack buzzer won't work. It takes alot more power than a Piezo device. The gauge might not put out enough for anything else. If Seahorse says it's so, then count on it. ;)
