You mean the pre-mix chopped glass and polyester resin mix commonly sold as "kitty hair" or "tiger hair"? Yes, that stuff sticks to plywood, same as regular poly resin.

Not the best boat repair product. But OK for filling in knot holes in the plywood deck. Might even be good for bedding down stringers. What are you planning on using it for?

Beware, some brands have talc mixed in, makes it more Bond-O like. Talc filler and marine environment do not go well together. So read the label.

I've used it(even the so called crap from lowes, depot and walmart) It will stick to anything that has a clean, dry and somewhat rough surface.
The whole talc, wax or whatever thing is a myth. Just look at the HMDS if you want to know what's in it. Really it would take more R&D to make the stuff from HD,Lowes,Walmart,AutoZone, etc suck than just to use the proven formula.

The stuff is tuff as shizzl

Stuff works good.

It's just a premix of a product you can mix yourself.

Kind of easier to use though. ( no mixing )

The talc thing is not a myth. Talc and polyester resin are the major ingredients in auto body filler. Talc is what turns polyester resin into the paste consistency that Bond-o is known for. Some of the poly and chopped glass mixes DO contain talc, and those should be avoided for use on boats. Past experience shows that auto body filler absorbs water and will eventually fail in the marine environment.

I agree to read the MSDS for the product. Its the only way to really tell.

Here is the MSDS for Bondo lightweight filler:

Section 2 - Hazardous Ingredients
Chemical Name % CAS# OSHA Exposure Limits
Proprietary Resin 30.0 - 40.0 Proprietary No PEL established
Talc 20.0 - 30.0 14807-96-6 20 mppcf
Styrene 10.0 - 20.0 100-42-5 100 ppm TWA; C 200 ppm C 200 ppm
Magnesium carbonate 10.0 - 20.0 546-93-0 total dust: 15 mg/m3 TWA; respirable

Notice that it is 20-30% talc.

Bondo brand glass reinforced filler does not contain talc. Notice it even has a boat on the can's label. But some cheap GRF that I have used does contain talc. Its an inexpensive extender.
