Shot in the Dark Depth Transducer Compatibility

So my boat has a transducer fixed to the bottom of the boat. The previous owner took the fish finder/ depth finder with him or he lost it whatever.
This is the pic of the plug. I believe it was a big screen fishing component. I really only want the simple depth finder like the one in the pic. Is this possible with this plug?
Sorry for the newbie question, but not sure what to look up.

Thanks for any and all help.

Unfortunately, transducer wiring is for the most part proprietary to a specific makes and models.

If you have a part number for the transducer you can find a list of compatible units. Doubt your going to find a "fishing" transducer compatible with a simple depth gauge

This is great so far thank you. There is a sticker on the wire. I will see if I can read it.

fish finders use different transducers than the depth gauge.

The hummingbird units he posted above run at 200kHZ which is a pretty typical frequency for sonar units in general.

The the thru hull is 200 kHZ as well, certainly, no reason it wouldn't work except the pin outs in the connector

Ok here comes a fairly educated guess .
The plug is a female end called a 5-8 F G
This is used on the Airmar B117 and fits Garmin and Echomap units of several years. It is a 600
Before you go out and buy, go find somebody with a garmin fishfinder and double check this info. I am pretty sure about the transducer, but garmin uses different types of plugs for different types of finders. Please let us know if this was right.
