Old boat, my first boat, '84, MCM 140R, 140hp, 181cid. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is a Carter low volume pump. I haven't opened up yet, but planning on replacing the filter in there.
Would it be a wise investment to also install a water separating filter between the pump and the gas tank, or is that overkill?

Thanks,
Dave

ps thank you Don S and Bondo for steering me towards the oper manual -- received last week, and wow, lots of good info
