should i buy a hydra-sport?

I've been shopping for a while now. I've found a good price on a new Hydra-sport Lightning 180 CC. Just drove it the other day and it was a great ride. Much better than the Sea Pro I drove last week. Anyway, for the price of the Hydra-sport I could get a bigger Sea Pro (SV 2100) but I really like the HS and may be willing to compromise on the 3 feet.
Can any of you help convince me not to buy the HS or to test another boat...or should I just go with my gut and buy the HS?
I think they hold their value longer too, don't they?

I think it's the H-S Vector boats that have good resale. The Lightning series is very different, in some cases they did not even start life as H-S designs. Which is not to say they don't work, just not very fresh designs. Your H-S 180 CC versus Sea Pro SV comparison is confusing. As the SP SV series are bay boats, not deep bodied CC models. If a CC is what you really want, also take a look at Key West, McKee Craft, Pioneer, and Sea Hunt. Though these may be more $$ than the H-S Lightning. In its price class, the H-S Lightning should be a decent value.

I think if you're happy with it and the price is right you should buy it.

3 feet can be a real asset, in rough water,

Sea Pro....here's why - The larger H-S are great boats, solid ride well built, but as it was stated above the 18 is an old design, resale not as great as the Lighting.the difference between the 2 boats as far as hull design (deadrise) which gives the boat its handling characteristics, is only a difference of 3% (h-s 18% sp 15%) Plus 3 extra feet is alot, plus the layout in the SP is more conducive for fishing,So depending on what type of fishing your doing..should determine your choice...Offshore = HS- taller freeboard, more deadrise, smoother ride. Inshore = SeaPro.less freeboard, more room, platform for fishing. Resale ? a well maintained boat with boats in this class will offer the old maxim of supply vs. demand, same resale value.
