Arco is aftermarket. I never had any problems with their product. Made in Pensacola,Florida.

In the other thread didn't you say the battery caught fire? If it did it was pulling alot of amps thru that selonoid. I would replace it. It way still work but is is damsged from the high cuurent condition. To avoid future problems I would replace the selenoid. You can bet that when it starts giving you problems it will be when you are on the water. Also it may work but have a voltage loss acoss the selenoid. This could damage your new starter very quickly. For the price of the selonoid I think the peace of mind would be cheap. Not to mention the price of the stater that could be ruined by a bad selenoid.

Hope This helps,
Sean

I recommend Arco. They are very good to deal with, and know their products. I have a local rebuilder, and he refers to their starter as the "Cadillac" model. They sell retail -- can order direct. They also supply Boat US.

And they have an excellent website.

just an opinion.
