should i change the plugs

i fogged my motor over the winter and i was told that when i start the motor with those plugs and then after everythings burns off i should change the old plugs with two new plugs ...... is that true or can i use the same old two? cleaning them and gaping them .

I never do either. Just clean them and check the gap.

The de-carb should leave them pretty clean anyway if it's complete.

so the fogging oil along with the start up wont do anything to the plugs? when i took one out yes it did look oily but of course thats gotta be the fogging oil. off hand whats the gap if you know? 1982 7.5 h.p evenrude short.

Plugs are 5 bucks, just change them and maybe take care of a problem before it starts.

Any fogging oil residue should just burn off as does the 2 stroke oil in your gas mixture. If you have no spare plugs then now is the time to get some. Should be part of your on the water emergency spares kit anyway.

I agree with 5150, they are cheap enough to change out, along with your fuel / water seperator element, inline fuel filters, lower unit oil and anything else that is simple maintenance. Be ahead of the issues that might leave ya stuck on land this comming season. Happy Boating!
