Should I go 15 pitch?

I'm using a 17 right now on my 73' Mercury 85 hp and getting about 5200 RPMs max, usually more like 5000. Should I go for a 15 pitch, and would I likely lose some top speed? My motor is rated for 5500 RPMs max.
