The parts diagram for my motor (J10RCDB) lists a stator and a rectifier. Would my motor have these parts, and where would they be. There is only the coil laminate assy. and sensor under the flywheel.

That's all you get with a rope start motor without AC lighting or battery charge capability.

Mine is actually an electric start but I don't know if it was added later or not. Doesn't look like there has ever been a tiller on it. No wear marks on the paint where the tiller would go.

The model number you gave indicates a rope start.

Re: Should I have a stator?

I don't know much about these motors yet as I just got this one but the electric start doensn't look OEM. The solenoid is in a separate control box that would be mounted on the boat. I'm figurung that it must have been added new or at the dealer. I just bought the motor and all controls for $300.00. It had good compression and water pumped when we tried to start it but it has no spark. Might have been a mistake but the motor looks like new, so i bought it anyway.
