Hey everyone.

I bought a new NGK spark plug for my 5 HP Mariner:

Mariner 5M
5HP
Made in Japan
6E3 S120783

The NGK number is B7HS

Should I pre-gap the plug?

Thanks in advance.

No idea, you'd need the manual, or maybe someone here owns the same unit?

Thanks again.

Bump for answer.
I'm trying to find a factory manual in PDF format but so far, no luck.

I don't think you'll ever find a factory manual online in PDF. I'd bet if you can find a clymers or seloc locally (library?) you'll find it there.

Why not give the local merc dealer a call?

I did find a factory manual in PDF (the pages were all scanned) when I had the Evinrude. But with Mariners, no luck.
Dealers are closes for today and I am going out tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try the local libraries.

Interesting about the .pdf Evinrude manual. Was it a private party that just scanned his manual and sold copies, or was it an authorized seller? The reason I ask is the last time I looked (a couple of years ago), I couldn't find any but heard that some people were scanning their manuals and selling illegal copies (breaking copyright laws).

If you find the gap, post it for posterity!
