Should I protect my outboard with cover?

This will be my first year leaving my boat in the water for the season.
Should I get a breathable waterproof engine cover to put on while it's moored?

I got a new bilge pump and painted the bottom. Anything else I should do?

there is no reason to cover a motor cover.

Ask the people at your marina (or neighbors, if you are mooring at home) how to moor your boat for the tides and wind there. I like having a battery cut-off switch so I can cut off all power except the bilge pump (obviously) but it's not crucial.

UV rays are harsh on everything from wites, to gel coat ......I mean everything ......... cover is a good idea.

Notice that items brag about being uv resistant and not uv completely protected.
