should i stay with my trusty carburated mercury or get a bigger etec for more power ?

i have an 05 60 hp carburated mercury it has been great , but my new boat is a little heavier and the motor is getting older I can get a good deal on a 75 etec { new 2013 } right now . will this motor give me the power i need and be as trusty as my old mercury . assuming i am doing all maintenance .

Your getting 15 more hp so yes it will run a little better...

Wow, 05' is old?....Im in big trouble.If it cant push it....yes.If it can push it...y would you....unless its a really good deal.
3 x humans ,1 x ice box ,1 x full tank and go for a run and you will have a clearer picture.

boat weight is 850 # empty . max hp is 75 . the 60 on my old boat did 43 mph . now it does 35 on gps . i am hoping to get my 43 back . but the 75 etec is almost 100 #s heavier . still the lightest 75 . the yamaha f70 is 265 but its 4 stroke . i have seen 75 etecs getting over 40 on similar boats .
