Should my 2004 Johnson 4-stroke smoke?

Twice I have noticed what looks like smoke coming out of my "water pump indicator" on the back of the engine. This water pump indicator (as diagrammed in my owner's manual) houses the tell tale outlet and another orifice where this smoke is coming from. I noticed it after running at 5000 RPMs for 15 or 20 minutes, then slowing down in a no wake zone.<br /><br />I'm not even sure what this orifice is and if this is truly smoke or steam...The tell tale part is working. I don't notice the "smoke" at other times although I usually can't see the back of the engine and only noticed this twice by chance. Engine has roughly 40 hours on it.<br /><br />Ideas?<br /><br />
