Should the prop be off the motor when running in a tank?

I am going to test the engine this weekend. I am going to have the lower unit submerged in a trash can. Do I need to take off the prop? and I am also going to seafoam it. I thought that I'd put some in the trash can water and some in the fuel mix. What are the pros and cons of seafoam?

Prop on, no seafoam in the water.

That fatty will empty that trash can is a few seconds, if you put her in gear and rev her up. I recommend fast idle, in neutral while treated fuel is burned by motor. Let her sit a day and then you will need to water test to achieve full effect of treatment.

I understand thank you for the advice, again. I should run the engine with the sea foam about fifteen minutes right? And the water test is the same as sea trial or actually in a lake or river where I can do maneuvers and wot. Cool stuff like that!!
