I have read NOT to troll with a 2 stroke. What is the real scoop on this?

flaboy,

You can do it, but I wouldn't do a lot of it especially with that Force you're thinking about buying. The 3G's your saving buying that engine would be well spent on a kicker of about 9.9 or 15 hp. You won't even spend the whole 3G's if you buy a good used one.

Re: Should you troll with a 2 stroke?

This is a subject that I find kind of silly. I guess because I have trolled with outboards of all sizes and never had a blink of a problem do to running slow. Of course all the boats were set up for fishing (not sking or racing). Guys always want me to make thier motor go as slow as possable, so they can troll. Well the hole idea behind trolling is to cover alot of water. Thats pretty hard to do when your motor is running slower than the tide. I don't understand. I always catch my share of fish, and they are still whole when netted.
