shrink wrap vents

I noticed that the boat that is wintered next to mine has plastic vents cut into his shrink wrap. Most of the boats in the marina have a few holes left open in the shrink wrap but I do not see any actual vents. The vents are cheap enough and it seems to make sense putting them into the shrinkwrap. Are the few holes left open by the marina adequate ventilation? The marina where my boat is wintered has been in business for over 50 years and they seem to know what they are doing. I'm surprised that most of the boats do not have these fabricated vents, especially considering how cheap ($2) they are. I assume there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to venting. Is my assumption correct?

Re: shrink wrap vents

i would add a few vents....

years ago when wrap just hit the west coast.....the big complaint was mold..(a tarp had air movement under it).....so there was a big trade off between the cost of mold damage and the cost of possibly loosing a tarp over the winter.

the vents fixed that whole delema.....

but a heated garage is still the best !
