I picked up a 12' V-hull that was rebuilt. It has 1" brackets going from the seats to the upper sides. Problem is, it gets in the way of rod holders I want to use.

As for structural integrity goes the seats themselves go all the way to the floor and are rivited to the sides. Are these supports needed? I can't seem to find any plans for this.
Thanks

Re: side support bracket

Sorry. No picture. Maybe I can get one with a little help from my daughter. :)

Yes, it is aluminum. The v-hull goes back 36" from the bow and from there is is fairly flat. The person who rebuilt it said he found it and it was given to him for free hence the total rebuild. He did it on his own as a reirement project. The new rivits were solid.

The wooden seats are new and of a heavy wood. There is carpet on the aluminum floor which is okay although I prefer a layer of styrofome and wood with outdoor carpet.
