I am installing a sierra ignitor electronic ignition on our 86 Mercruiser 190. I have determined that we have a purple resistance wire from the choke to the coil. Instructions for the conversion kit are to put the red (+) wire on the ignition side of the resistor. I assume that I need to add a jumper wire on the red lead (since it is only about 10" long and run this jumper wire back and attached it to the lead coming off the choke? Do I just put it on the connector at the choke?

My coil is the type that uses an external resistor, instructions with the conversion kit say to use the type of coil that is original to the boat.
