Does anybody here know who manufactures oil for Sierra or Seastar solutions? I have found that they have a 30w synthetic that is being sold as a replacement for Volvo mono grade 30w. I have always used the Volvo 30w syn until it became unavailable and replaced with their 10w-40. My manual states that the other choices are 15-50 or a 20-50. I used the Volvo 10w-40 last year and did not notice a difference in temp etc. I am from the old school and like to use what they recommend. I do feel that the 10w-40 is a little thin since summers here are above 100 degrees. From what I have been reading here, oil is oil. I just would like to see if you all have any info on the Sierra oils. My boat is a 2005 Chaparral with the 5.0 GXI-E.
