Anyone have experience with a Starter, part # 18-5913, from Sierra Marine?

It is made for use in Merc/Volvo/OMC, and I use mine for my 4.3L Mercruiser 262.

I'm not sure what kind of starter was in my boat originally after I bought it, but I replaced it with a Sierra only for the nose cone to bust off in the flywheel housing within a couple months of purchase.

I ordered a new one and a got a refund on the one that busted, and now the NEW one has failed. It gets enough juice when tested, but the starter does not function as it should.

So now I have ordered yet another one, and will get a refund on this one since it is still within the 12 month manufacturer warranty.

I was just wondering if anyone else has issues with these Sierra replacements starters, and if there might be any other alternative brands out there that might be of better quality?

FYI, I have been ordering these starters from boatersworld.com, Sierra is the only brand they offer.

Check ebasicpower.com
It sounds like something is not lined up right if it keeps busting the starter..
