It's hurricane season (duhhh!).. The politicians know it's comming, I think.. Does every year, same time... Yet politicians and their "workers" put signs of all shapes and sizes on every spot of land they can stick a sign on (and some spots they are'nt supposed to)...

Are these people stupid? Do they not care?

2x4's.. Plywood.. Wire.. This roadside garbage is like extra shrapnel in a hand grenade durring hurricane season... Am I the only one who see this as a problem?

Hurricane Charlie... I wonder how many signs were taken down before the storm.. I bet very few... I did'nt see any signs being taken down in PBC in the days before charlie, even when it was being forecast to closely visit the area.. If anything, more went up!

I wonder how much damage was done to private property by political sign shrapnel in Punta Gorda, Arcadia, Orlando, and all the areas effected by Charlie??? I wonder if the politicians themselves would/could be held responsible for damages?? It'd tickle me silly to have some poor homeowner sue the pants off Dubya, Kerry, or some other political wanker for having one of their signs fly thru the aforementioned homeowner's front room window... Would it be some degree of manslaughter if the sign flew and killed someone???

Political signs should have to be constructed to meet Dade county building codes... Concrete footers, fastening schedules, specific materials, INSPECTIONS!!!
Bet we would'nt see too many signs then!
