Silicone Treatment

I'd like to spray the carpet on our trailer's bunks with silicon but the only time our boat isn't on its trailer is when the boat is in the water and the carpet is wet from launching the boat .... is it true that the carpet needs to be dry when sprayed with silicon .... once sprayed, how long should the silicon be allowed to dry before putting the trailer back in the water .... how often you you need to respray the bunks

No it can be sprayed on to a wet bunk. A nice heavy coating.

The other option is to spray the bunks when you return to the ramp. This way they have had time to dry out a bit. LOL Yes silicone the stuff with the E

The other alternative is use plastic glide strips.

yep, you do .... just today I learned that spell check doesn't help if you use the wrong word but it is spelled correctly ...
