When the VA delivered my wheelchair I thought my boating and fishing days were done. I knew there would be no more sailboats and large fishing boats.Since I can still stand I decided to go back to a small boat that we could use to fish on the Intercoastal.(my girlfriend would rather be on the boat than go to the mall).Found a 14 foot Sea Nymph for $300.00 and started to bring it back to a usable condition. After the first sea trial I discovered that my hands did not function well enough for a tiller. Back to the drawing board and built a front console. We now use the boat 2-3 days a week.Since just about everything was purchased on ebay and local flea markets, the cost was very low and she named the boat"PADE 4".100_0738.jpg100_0755.jpg100_0756.jpg100_0758.jpg100_0771.jpg100_0738.jpg100_0755.jpg100_0756.jpg100_0758.jpg100_0771.jpg
Her big fish picture was a 28 inch spotted sea trout and she always catches more and bigger fish than me. ( we changed her name to "seaspray sally"

Beautiful Boat.. Great job!

I love the wood-grain touches on the bench seats and the console...

Terrific job! Now how about some details?
What paint is that and what color? Love that blue.

OK More details: All of the paint used was Rust-Oleum. The navy blue was their topside paint and the light blue, gloss smoke grey and white is their industrial. All paint had Majic hardener added. The wood used for the seats and console were left over from my furniture projects(I made every piece of furniture in my condo using pine, oak, walnut, cherry and maple which was a two year project). The carpet and paint came from HD. The hardware and rigging (i.e. controls, cables, steering etc.) came from ebay, local flea markets, craigslist and a local discount marine distributor (claims to be the largest in the world with 8 acres of parts who is about 5 min. from my condo) The total investment=less than $800.00. Nothing purchased from the big name rip-off store! The only other thing I plan on doing is to add a bimini top(the south Florida sun gets rather intense) and change the carb on the 9.9 Evenrude to a 15 HP (1989) because the tide, both incoming and out going near the Fort Pierce inlet gets pretty swift and I can use the extra 5 HP.(anyone got one for sale? cheap?) Having had boats for almost 50 years I learned that to stay within a given budget, stay away from the big guys store and be patient- whatever you are looking for-it's out there for a bargain price! Keep looking and sooner or later you will find it! Back in 1990 I restored a one of a kind 26 foot sailboat for less than $1000.00 and one year later it was completed and took a year off of work (I was self employed) and sailed from Ft.Lauderdale to Trinidad and back-took 7 1/2 months.A trip of a lifetime that I will never forget. If you are doing a resto-just be patient and keep looking-the bargains are out there!!!!!

Thanks drillbits. The Navy looks darker and the gray looks lighter on your boat than what the paint chips in the store looks like. I was going to use the smoke and try and lighten it up inside mine but after seeing yours I might not have to.

The light smoke grey is lighter and has more of a gloss because of the added "Majic" hardener . Besides making it lighter it also makes it hard as nails. I get the Majic from Tractor Supply or can you order it on the internet. After staining the wood, it was finished with Sikkens Cetol teak. Much better than any varnish and you don't have to sand between coats. I did six coats and the only drawback was the long drying time.(24 hours between coats). It should last a year before needing re-finishing.
