Getting a single beep when engaging drive on '17 V6-200J, A699123. Located north end of Lake Washington in Seattle/Kenmore. Powered across lake after refueling with no issues, shut it off to lower bimini top, then some difficulty restarting when warm. Had to crank key twice and hold key in far right ignition position much longer than when cold (this boat is always harder to start warm than cold). Had to raise trim 50% due to shallow slough leading to launch. (We only travel very low speed with trim up.) Boat felt like there was some resistance at low speed. Feeling of a surging as if dragging bottom. I didn't see muck churning up, so I was thinking it might be a fuel or fuel/air ratio issue related to a bad sensor. Engine sounded ok. While trying to trailer boat, wife experienced beeps each time engaging drive from neutral with trim at 50%. Gauges were all normal range. At home on the trailer with water hose attached, I am now getting a short single beep after engaging drive with engine running. Prop vents look relatively clear with plenty of water flow. I pulled the impeller to check for damage and it is fine. Installed a fresh fuel filter. It still beeps once when engaging drive. I connected an Autel AL529 heavy truck J1939 code reader using a OBD marine plug adapter. It shows no current DTC codes and only two historical codes (one for coil #6 that was replaced under warranty and another for low coolant). Current coolant level is in the middle of the range on the tank.

At start of season I changed oil, gear oil, and coolant using volvo shop manual and oem fluids. We had the boat out 4 times with no beeping or performance issues. The main thing to have changed is new fuel (which seemed fine for 30 minutes at 25mph cruising). Also, the slough to the launch is more shallow due to drop in lake level and there is more millfoil in the water.

I know that the marina replaced the exhaust sensors on the boat under warranty in 2017. I was suspecting the exhaust sensors or possibly a fuel pump going bad. Unfortunately, the scan tool shows no current scans. It does have a data logging ability that I might try. This tool is really designed for heavy trucks, so it might not translate as much ECU data as an $800 shop tool.

Any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Marina is backed up with peak summer demand as our season here is only 4 months.

I would start by checking you battery to see if it's close to 13.7V without it being on a charger for 2 hours. If voltage is good look at connections to see if they are clean and tight
