I have a couple of these in my boat I am about to re-work. The p/o has the wires all cut back or cut out and I'm just left with the stubs at the sockets. I'm going to re-solder good wire into them, but I'm wondering about the grounds? I don't see anywhere for a ground wire to attach? There is nothing broken off the socket from what I can tell, does the ground just screw to the housing? Which is screwed to the rod lockers aluminum frame and the hull is my ground? There are remnants of some ground wire there. That circuit is going to run off my 12v trolling motor batteries. I've tried a bit of searching here to no avail. Thanks for any input :)

Re: Single contact lamp sockets..

sounds like a automotive or trailer light where one of the mounting bolt/screw is the ground. not realy a good idea to use this type on a boat but if it can be isolated from the hull then a ground wire can be run from the attachment bolt.
