Single or dual steering??

I have a 90 hp yamaha set up on an 86 stratos. The boat came with dual cables. The motor is set up for single cable steering, what would be an easier fix, buying a dual cable adapter or replace the whole thing with a single steering cable. I have checked into the pricing and found that the dual set up is not cheap. I found a single teleflex tilt steering wheel and cable for 150 dollars, i measured the cable length for the motor and its the right length;is there anything i need to look at before purchasing the single teleflex tilt set up?. I have no clue and need to fix the steering before i go out on the water.
